The version 1.2 update for Azure Striker Gunvolt will be released in North America on March 5th, Inti Creates have announced. They studio says the update will allow the game to take advantage of the New Nintendo 3DS’ added buttons and resources, but will also add extra features to the game on a regular Nintendo 3DS.

Here’s a complete list of what the ver. 1.2 update will add:

Boss Rush Mission:

Beating the game unlocks the Boss Rush mode. If you rack up 1,000+ Kudos during this mode, you get to hear the English version of Lumen’s “Beyond the Blue” song.

New Lumen Song:

Lumen’s new song “Sakura Efflorescence” will play during normal missions.

Transferring Save Data:

If you have the Gunvolt demo (coming this week), you’ll be able to transfer your save data from the demo to the full game.

Support for New Nintendo 3DS:

ZL/ZR buttons will allow you to change weapons on the fly. Additionally, loading times for the game will be faster on New 3DS as well.

Bug Fixes:

  • Bug that prevents players from progressing mid-game has been fixed
  • Typo fixes
  • Other small bug fixes

Additionally, Inti Creates are also releasing another 3DS Home Menu theme on March 5th. Titled “The Sumeragi 7,” it will feature the seven Sumeragi bosses on the upper screen and boss battle music “Sumeragi Skirmish” playing in the background. The theme will cost $1.49 to download off the 3DS Theme Shop.
