The Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! anime, based on the series’ four-panel manga, will premiere on January 11, 2021, Shochiku announced.
We’ll see more insights into the peaceful life of shipgirls in the spin-off anime Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin. This time around, the anime will be more of a slice-of-life series than a naval action show. Now that the premiere date is out for the anime, here’s a new trailer to go with it:
Studio Candybox and Yostar Pictures will handle the spin-off’s anime adaptation, with Masato Jinbo as the director and Yu Sato as its writer. The anime will feature music by Shade and a theme song called “Longing for!” that is sung by Emi Nitta.
The Azur Lane smartphone game launched in Japan in September 2017. Since then, the series saw a meteoric rise in popularity. It ended up inspiring a 12-episode anime adaptation that aired from October 2019 to March 2020. A 3D action game adaptation, called Azur Lane: Crosswave, was also released for the PlayStation 4 in August 2019. The game also appeared for PCs via Steam and, more recently, in Japan for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version of Azur Lane: Crosswave will release in the West in 2021.
Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! will premiere on January 11, 2021, on Tokyo MX, BS11, AT-X, and online streaming services. A special Christmas live stream will take place on December 21, 2020.
