A new key visual for the second part of Attack on Titan’s final season has been released. The image was revealed at the Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 Special Event, held November 14, 2021 in Kawaguchi, Saitama, Japan. The event brought numerous members of the show’s cast and staff together to celebrate the upcoming conclusion of the series. For those living outside of Japan, tickets to watch the event are available until the VOD goes offline on November 21, 2021 via Pony Canyon’s Zaiko website.
The fourth and final season made the jump from WIT Studio to MAPPA, known for its work on Jujutsu Kaisen, Banana Fish, and the upcoming Chainsaw Man anime adaptation. The first part came to an end on March 29, 2021, and the English dub was aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block. Hiroshi Seko (Seraph of the End, Mob Psycho 100) provides the script for the final season, which adapts the “Marley” and “War for Paradis” arcs from Hajime Isayama’s original manga series.
As the first part of the final season was aired in 2021, the series was the most viewed TV program in the United States for a period of time. Attack on Titan also broke the Guinness World Record for “most-in demand TV show” in 2021, with the organization stating that the series had “a global demand rating 52.7 times greater than that of the average television show.”
Part 2 of Attack on Titan‘s final season will premiere in Japan on January 9, 2022. Part 1 premiered on December 7, 2020, and was simulcast on Crunchyroll.
