2D ARPG The Tale of the Ice Staff never has players facing danger alone, as they will always have an AI partner backing them up with healing and helpful spells.
After choosing one of three different characters and picking their AI helper, The Tale of the Ice Staff sets players free in randomly-generated worlds. Depending on which character they choose, they’ll be able to just rush into combat or have to take a more careful, tactical approach.
The developers promise an extremely deep story, as the 500000 word plot was originally designed for a visual novel they had been planning. The developer also boasts the game will have over fifty endings dictated by what the player does over the course of the game.
The Tale of the Ice Staff is also looking to create a mode where players can play as each of the game’s bosses in special ‘Memory Stages’. That will only be possible should the game reach one of its high stretch goals during its Kickstarter campaign. The game is also looking for votes on Steam Greenlight.
