In Famitsu’s New Year Greetings column, Atlus teased an upcoming new game. It also mentioned that the Persona 25th Anniversary event will enter a “new phase.” Whereas Famitsu’s end-of-year column focused on developers reflecting on 2021, the New Year Greetings one is where companies talk about what consumers can look forward to from them in 2022. The first thing Atlus brought up in the New Year Greetings is how Shin Megami Tensei V sold over 800,000 units in less than two months. It thanked players for their support in helping it to reach that milestone. Atlus also reminded consumers that the remaster version of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will come out in March 2022. The Nintendo Switch version of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will come out in April 2022. According to the New Year Greeting, Atlus will reveal more details about the new game after these releases. The unannounced new title will be a “surprise.”
As mentioned earlier, Atlus also noted that the Persona 25th Anniversary will enter a new phase, though it does not go into detail. During 2021, Atlus released multiple pieces of commemorative merchandise, such as vinyl records and Tarot cards. It also had collaboration events with places such as Namjatown and the Sega Collab cafe.
Atlus will announce a new game later in 2022. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will come out on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on March 17, 2022. The 13 Sentinels Switch port will come out in April 12, 2022 in North America and Europe, and April 14, 2022 in Japan.
