Atlus On Why PlayStation 4 Share Features Have Been Disabled For Persona 5

Persona 5 is just a few days away from its worldwide release, and many have noted that the ability to share screenshots and record gameplay through the PlayStation 4’s share feature has been disabled for the game.

We don’t often see PlayStation 4 games disable sharing other than a few restrictions such as screens or certain segments but Persona 5 won’t have any share functions from start to end. To find out why the choice has been made to disable the feature, Atlus spoke with Polygon and shared the following reply:

“This being a Japanese title with solely a single-playthrough story means Japan is very wary about it. Sharing is currently blocked through the native PS4 UI.”

Persona 5 will release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017.
