Atari-Inspired Nebula Sector To Touch Down On iPhone

Nephilim Games, an independent developer in Memphis, are working on an iOS game titled Nebula Sector. The game is inspired by Lunar Lander, released in 1979 by Atari, where the goal was to pilot a Lander’s touchdown on the moon. One of Lunar Lander’s standout features was that you lost fuel proportionate to the amount of thrust you used.

Nebula Sector uses a similar concept: you have to maneuver through an asteroid field and land your craft safely without running out of fuel. Powerups such as a shield generator and a boost aid you along the way, and you can aim for the fastest landing times to compete on leaderboards.

Nebula Sector is being funded through Kickstarter. If you’re interested, you can view the game’s Kickstarter page here for more details on how it plays and contribute funds for its development.
