Yesterday it was reported in an interview by IGN Benelux that Astral Chain is being made as the first part of a trilogy, but director Takahisa Taura took to Twitter to provide clarification on the mistranslation.

“The article states that it is being made as the ‘first title of a trilogy’ but this is not true. I simply said that I’m thinking about different ways to expand further, be it a trilogy or more.”

So Astral Chain isn’t being made as a trilogy, but having it expand into one is something Taura has thought about among other possibilities for the game going forward. When asked by one fan if it means there’s a good chance for at least a sequel, Taura said “If we’re talking about possibilities, then I think the same goes for all games.”

Astral Chain releases for Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019.
