Merge Games has announced Aragami is set to release on October 4, 2016 on PC and PlayStation 4. In Aragami, players control an undead assassin that has been resurrected with the power to control the shadows. The assassin has been summoned to the world of the living by a girl named Yamiko, who is being held captive by an army of light called the Kaiho. Along with coming to Yamiko’s aid, players will recover the assassin’s memories and come to understand the mysteries of his existence.
The assassin can control the shadows and use them to move about as well as fight. His skills include the ability to warp from shadow to shadow, strategically place shadows in areas without them, and create forms from the shadows like a dragon shadow monster to attack enemies from a distance. The assassin also has a robust repertoire of take downs that can be seen in the gameplay video below.
Aragami is getting both a physical and digital release. The standard Collector’s Edition includes a digital art book and digital soundtrack, while the Developer’s Signature Edition comes with a printed art book and physical soundtrack CD housed in a box signed by the development team.
