In the last few weeks, there have been plenty of leaks regarding a Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Now it seems like the datamining of that trial has led to potential information about additional platforms. Namely, people have discovered data within it that suggests there could be a Final Fantasy VII Remake PC release. [Thanks, roXyPS3!]
People who have been going through the leaked Final Fantasy VII Remake demo’s contents have discovered multiple pieces of evidence pointing to the game appearing on another platform. The most obvious is PC code suggesting resolution options beyond the ones for the PlayStation 4. (The information there suggests a standard 1080p resolution for the console and that it will run at 30FPS.) As roXyPS3 mentioned, the uncovered data also references AMD and NVIDIA tech.
Back in the beginning of December 2019, we learned that Final Fantasy VII Remake is only a temporary PlayStation 4 exclusive. The box art shared then noted that this deal would expire on March 3, 2021 with a “Play first on PS4” label.
As for the PlayStation 4 leaked Final Fantasy VII Remake demo, quite a bit of it has appeared online for people to see. Originally, only the opening appeared. Since then, even more footage has been shown off by people with access to it.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
