Ape Escape Makes Its Appearance in Everybody’s Golf Mobile App

Ape Escape collaboration on mobile Everybody's Golf

Sony’s classic game IP Ape Escape makes its appearance in Everybody’s Golf. However, the latter is neither in the PlayStation 4 nor PlayStation VR game. This collaboration happens instead on the mobile app that has been running for over 3 years. [Thanks, Dengeki.]

The collaboration, which runs throughout February 2021, allows players to obtain Ape Escape-themed attire and gear. Simply logging in to the game daily will unlock item rewards, including attire parts based on the yellow-shorted ape. A link provided inside the app’s news page will also allow players to download a special wallpaper.

Weekly ranking tournaments held inside the app throughout February 2021 will come with event missions that reward another exclusive ape attire set. Last but not least, the mobile game also features a gacha that ultimately rewards an Ape Escape-branded ball and a golf club based on the ape-catching net.

Ape Escape celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019. Although there has not been a new game from the IP since the 2011 PlayStation 3 game, SIE’s Japan Studio has been posting illustrations in collaboration with other first-party IPs, such as Gravity Rush and The Last of Us.

ForwardWorks, which has been releasing mobile apps based on numerous Sony game IPs like Wild Arms and Arc the Lad, launched the Everybody’s Golf mobile app for Android and iOS devices in July 2017 in Japan. The game is still actively ongoing to this day.
