With the arrival of Diablo IV Season 1, players now have the option to check out new enemies, content, and endgame options. But it also means that players have to create a brand new character to play the new additions with. As you start out in this new season, you may wonder what is the best class to pick for Diablo IV Season 1. But honestly, it’s not something you need to worry about. Any one you really like could work.

So there’s no real best Diablo IV Season 1 class?

Unfortunately, the release of the first season of this game, Season of the Malignant, doesn’t bring with it a new class. You still have the basic default five classes of Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer. But the good news is that all five of those base Diablo IV classes could be a fun one to use in season 1. You could opt for a class you already know quite well and build upon your expertise. Alternatively, you could use the opportunity you have to create a new character to explore another class.

That said, there is one class that stands above the rest in terms of its utility and flexibility. If there is a single best Diablo IV Season 1 class, I think it has to be the Rogue. The Rogue in this game is one of the most impressive due to its versatile nature. It has skills for everything you can think of, including offensive, defensive, ranged, and melee. It can be the trickster assassin, but it can even withstand some hits; it all depends on how you build one.

Because of this flexibility, it makes the Rogue much more favorable for most parties and even solo players. There are some solid builds you can create for this season, such as focusing around the Twisted Blades, Rapid Fire, or Barrage skills.

That said, don’t feel like you have to pick Rogue if that class doesn’t interest you. There isn’t a single bad class in Diablo IV, so feel free to go with whatever you prefer. In fact, if you’ve already played a Rogue before, I suggest trying something new.

Diablo IV Season 1 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
