Animal Crossing: New Leaf Sells Over 6.3 Million Copies Worldwide

While Nintendo’s Wii U sales have been alarmingly low, Nintendo 3DS sales are doing okay. The system isn’t pulling in the legendary numbers of its predecessor, the Nintendo DS, but the portable is heading into the holiday season with a very strong line-up of games and a cheaper model in the Nintendo 2DS to help broaden its userbase.

While the 3DS is seeing new games like Pokémon X/Y and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds as it heads into the holidays, 3DS titles released over the summer have been doing rather well, too. As part of their second quarter financial results briefing, Nintendo provided worldwide sales figures for some of these games. Here’s a look:

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – 6.35 million

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon – 3.13 million

Tomodachi Collection (JP only) – 1.63 million

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team – 1.37 million

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D – 1.19 million

Note that the above figures include both retail and download sales.
