New indie studio Resonator has announced its first project to be open-world, dual-stick action game Anew. It’ll be coming to PC and consoles.

Anew has you playing as a child with limited resources who finds themselves along on a distant alien moon. Despite only being a child, you have to carry out a mission of “critical importance.”

To do this, you’ll have to battle and puzzle your way across a painterly side-scrolling world full of exotic dangers. You’ll be able to collect new equipment and upgrades, vehicles to drive, as well as companions that will help you out in combat and exploration.

Resonator is made up of people who previously worked at EA, Bioware, 2K, and Volition on games including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, BioShock 2, Borderlands 2, and the Saints Row series.
