Among Us “Cursed” Horse Mode is Real for April Fools 2022

For April Fools 2022, Among Us players can activate Horse Mode. This will only be available for a single day. As one may expect, Horse Mode turns the crewmate or impostor that you control into a “cursed” horse-like figure. Aside from that, everything appears to play the same.

According to the tweet from the official Among Us Twitter account, the team came up with Horse Mode in 2021. However, it did not go through with it. For 2020 and 2021, the April Fools joke was “ehT dlekS.” It was a reversed version of The Skeld, which is one of the maps in Among Us. The Skeld will not appear as “ehT dlekS” this year because of Horse Mode.

Aside from the different visuals of the crewmates and impostors, there is a “neigh” kill sound effect. According to the Innersloth website, the sound effect is not a real horse. One of the teamโ€™s programmers, Gary, provided the voice, and it was originally a filler sound. Because of the “cursed” body shapes, they can only wear hats and visors, which will temporarily limit what cosmetics you can put on your character.

Among Us is available on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Horse Mode April Fools joke will only be available on April 1, 2022.
