A short post on Allison Road’s Facebook page has offered a vague reason as to why the popular P.T.-like horror game has been cancelled.

“Hi all,

After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label.

Sometime things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity… We’d like to especially thank everyone for their support through-out, it has and will always be appreciated!”

The developer and their publisher, Team17, have ended their partnership despite Allison Road’s developer having previously cancelled their Kickstarter to work together. With this broken partnership, the game has been cancelled altogether, with its end broadcast in a tweet from the Allison Road account on June 4.

There are no further details as to why they decided to split up at this time.
