Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail has new content and additions for each of the job classes in the game, including Fisher. Those who want to reel in some new fishies across the Tural continent in FFXIV Dawntrail will be happy to know there are new fishing lures and tackle for players to use.
Every New Fishing Lure and Tackle in FFXIV Dawntrail
There are about 10 new fishing lures for players to get and use throughout this fifth expansion. These new tackle items are there to help with the six new areas in the expansion and across the 10 new levels from 91 to 100 for Fishers. Here are all 10 of the fishing lures and tackle players are able to use in Dawntrail, along with the proper level for each one:
- Golden Stonefly Nymph: Level 90 (Item level 620). Used in freshwater fishing
- Crimson Lugworm: Level 90 (iLvl 620). Ocean fishing
- Silkmoth Pupa: Level 91 (iLvl 645). Salt lake fishing
- Honeybee: Level 93 (iLvl 655). Freshwater fishing
- White Worm: Level 95 (iLvl 665). Salt lake fishing
- Cactuar Jig: Level 95 (iLvl 665). Skyfishing
- Popper Lure: Level 96 (iLvl 670). Freshwater fishing
- Shucked Clam: Level 97 (iLvl 675). Ocean fishing
- Dragonfly: Level 98 (iLvl 680). Skyfishing
- Red Maggots: Level 100 (iLvl 690). Freshwater fishing
- Ghost Nipper: Level 100 (iLvl 690). Ocean fishing
Where to Get Every Fishing Lure
While there are 10 new fishing lures and tackle available for Fishers in FFXIV Dawntrail, it is quite easy to get all of them. For the first eight tackle as you are leveling up in the game, you can get them from a variety of vendor NPCs in Tural. To make things easier, I suggest heading to Goplu in Tuliyollal at the following location:
- Tuliyollal: X: 13.0, Y: 12.7
You can buy these fishing lures as you level up your Fisher there for a handful of Gil. However, you can also buy them off of the Market Board but it may be more expensive this way. For the final two level 100 lures, you’ll need to buy them at any Scrip Exchange in any major city. For this, you’ll need enough Orange Scrips to buy each one.
