All MW3 Multiplayer Game Modes: Cutthroat

The first of the MW3 multiplayer game modes is Cutthroat. This one focuses on three teams of three who battle it out with only one life per player.

Team Deathmatch

This is the classic six versus six mode where two teams duke it out across various maps to see who can get the most kills in the time limit.

Domination

This game mode features three flags on the map. Teams get one point for every flag they capture every few seconds in the match until a side reaches the points requirement to win.

This highly competitive game mode has two teams with one life per round. One team attacks by trying to plant the bomb at one of two sites, while the other team defends and tries to eliminate them first.

Kill Confirmed

This mode is pretty much just Team Deathmatch, but with a twist: every player drops a dog tag when they die. Picking up dog tags is the only way to score points in this variant.

Free-for-All

This is every player for themselves as they fight to get the most eliminations in the match.

Hardpoint

This also highly competitive mode sees points appear on the map in different spots every 60 seconds. If a team stands in the Hardpoint, they will earn points. The first to reach the point total wins.

Control

Control has players take turns on the attacking and defending sides. The attacking team has only 30 lives to capture two points on the map. Meanwhile, the defending team also has only 30 lives to stop the other team from capturing points. The first to win two rounds takes the match.

War

Two teams battle through the map by capturing each linear objective one at a time. It is somewhat similar to a mix of Control, Capture the Flag, and Domination.

Gun Game

This is a special Free-for-All mode where every elimination earns you a new weapon. The first player to get an elimination with every weapon wins.

Ground War

This is a massive 64-player game mode with vehicles and more. It takes place on huge maps with around five flags in total to capture and defend. It is like Domination but on a huge scale.

This is similar to Ground War with 64 players in the lobby, but it focuses more on the fighting and mixes in AI characters with the real players.
