All Characters in The Last of Us Part II Remastered No Return

Naughty Dog’s new roguelike mode offers a surprisingly large cast of characters to play as. Let’s look at all the characters available to play in The Last of Us Part II Remastered No Return and how to unlock them.

How many characters are in The Last of Us Part II Remastered No Return mode?

There are a total of 10 playable characters in No Return Mode split into two unlock paths. Characters associated with Ellie will be unlocked by completing encounters with them in that group. Likewise, Abby-aligned characters unlock the same way.

Every character has a specific starting loadout, including traits that can define their playstyle. There’s surprisingly some variety here and you can absolutely find a character that suits your style of play. Completing challenges within each group also helps to unlock things like new skins you can even carry over into the main campaign.

How to unlock all playable characters in The Last of Us Part II Remastered No Return

• Ellie
  • Unlocked by default.

• Dina
  • Fight two encounters as Ellie.

• Jesse
  • Fight three encounters as Dina.

• Tommy
  • Fight three encounters as Jesse.

• Joel
  • Fight four encounters as Tommy.

• Abby
  • Unlocked by default.

• Lev
  • Fight two encounters as Abby.

• Yara
  • Fight three encounters as Lev.

• Mel
  • Fight three encounters as Yara.

• Manny
  • Fight four encounters as Mel.

Keep in mind that you don’t need to complete the run to unlock the character. You can simply get your encounters, then quit out to the main menu, and you will still unlock the appropriate character. However, completing a run with each character will net you the Roll Call trophy.
