The sixth nation in HoYoVerse’s free-to-play title Genshin Impact will drop for players on August 28, 2024. The release of the highly anticipated 5.0 Genshin Impact update is complete with plenty of new characters, events, and activities to celebrate the release of the Natlan region.
All new characters in Genshin Impact 5.0
There are three new characters in total we know about that will be arriving either with the launch of patch 5.0 or soon thereafter. Here are all three of the new playable characters that will be dropping into the Natlan region in the near future:
- Kachina: four-star Geo character from Children of Echoes
- Kinich: five-star Dendro who hails from Scions of the Canopy. He will arrive later in the second phase of 5.0
- Mualani: five-star Hydro character who hails from People of the Springs
Kachina is completely free to earn, though you can also get her via all banners after she debuts on the Mualani and Kazuha one on August 28, 2024. All you need to do is complete the first Act of the Natlan main story. The other two characters will only be available in banner events.
Rerun banners during 5.0 include Kaedahara Kazuha and Raider Shogun. He is in phase one, while she is in phase two.
All Natlan events in Genshin Impact 5.0
As always, the 5.0 update for Genshin Impact and the release of the new Natlan region will includes several new events to look forward to, in addition to the characters. There are a couple of different event wishes you need to know about:
- Phase 1: Mualani 5-star Hydro, Kaedahara Kazuha 5-star Anemo, and Kachina 5-star Geo. This phase begins at the launch of 5.0 on August 28, 2024.
- Phase 2: Kinich 5-star Dendro and Raiden Shogun 5-star Electro. These banners begin on September 17, 2024.
In addition to the usual character gacha banners, there are also some general free events for everyone. Here are all five of the events players can expect in 5.0. Dates for them aren’t confirmed yet.
- Dodoco’s Boom-Bastic Escapades: We’ll need to head to Mondstadt for this event to play a game inspired by Klee’s Dodoco “companion.”
- Ley Line Overflow: This is a recurring event that gives you double Ley Line Outcrop rewards three times each day during it.
- Memories of Teyvat: This will involve using the Kamera gadget to take photos for an event.
- Of Thorns and Crowns: It appears this will be a combat-focused series of challenges in Natlan that involves making a “Canticle Of Crowns.”
- Traces of Artistry: This will be a Natlan-focused activity that also involves graffiti and art.
During the 5.0 series, players can also expect the fourth anniversary of the game to happen. This will come with free rewards, including 1,600 Primogems, a Sanctifying Elixir, 2 Fragile Resin, a Firstborn Firesprite, and a Kaboom Box. People will also be able to select one free five-star character, with Dehya, Diluc, Jean, Keqing, Mona, Qiqi, and Tighnari as the options.
Genshin Impact 5.0 will release for free for Android, iOS, PS4, PS5, and PC on August 28, 2024.
