Last week, a Dead or Alive: Dimensions trailer showed off a Metroid: Other M stage in the Team Ninja fighting game. The trailer, which you can view above, led most to believe that Metroid protagonist, Samus Aran, would be a playable character in the game as well.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the case, according to Team Ninja lead, Yosuke Hayashi. Speaking with Eurogamer, he confirmed: “This time she’s not playable. But Samus Aran will be shown in the game. She comes to help the player. That’s the collaboration shown there [in the trailer]. But how you can unlock Samus Aran? Please find out by yourself.”
For those that haven’t kept up with it, Dimensions is a chronicling of the first four Dead or Alive games with added content. According to Hayashi, Team Ninja’s intent was to create the “best version of Dead or Alive” and including Samus was not pertinent to that goal.
Dead or Alive: Dimensions is a Nintendo 3DS launch window game, which means it will release sometime between the system’s launch and E3 in June.
