Agetec picks up where Sega Europe left off

touchdarts.jpgSometime last year Sega Europe developed and published Touch Darts, a Nintendo DS title where players “throw” darts with the touch screen. Since the game was already in a familiar language (read: English) it seemed like a no brainer that Sega USA would publish it in North America in the future. Heavens no! Instead of touching the title, one of the few developed by Sega Europe, Chris over at Cosmos Gaming informed us Agetec is handling it for North America.

This isn’t a usual case, but occasionally Sega games are handled by a third party. Puyo Pop Fever and Shining Soul immediately come to mind, but these needed localization. The only localization changes I can imagine are removing extra “u’s” (colour to color) and maybe editing the dialogue. I can’t say this is a good sign for Touch Darts, but this must strengthen (create?) a relationship between Sega and Agetec. Hopefully, this leads to Agetec localizing the now forgotten Shining Wind in the future.
