Add Checkpoints To Super Mario Maker Levels On November 4

Additional costume updates for Super Mario Maker have been prepared for Japan, adding Famitsu’s Nekki and Game Center CX’s Shinya Arino as Mystery Mushroom characters, but on November 4, free creation content will come to the game. Nintendo has announced an update that will add new tools and online Course World options.

The most notable additions add two tools to Super Mario Maker’s editor. The first is a Checkpoint, which can be found by shaking an Arrow and placing it in a level. If Mario passes it, he can restart from that point. The other lets a person take a Fire Flower and attach a Super Mushroom to it. If someone hits a block that has this combo in it, they’ll get the Super Mushroom if they’re standard Mario and the Fire Flower if they’re large Mario.

The Super Mario Maker update to Course World makes it easier to find official levels. In Makers, an Official tab will be added. Courses from Nintendo can be found under it. On the main page, a Toad icon will take you to Event Courses for special events.

Finally, a more challenging version of Gnat Attack is in the game. I fyou grab a Muncher and shake it until a giant fly comes out, you can trigger a more difficult version of the Gnat Attack minigame.

All of these updates will come to Super Mario Maker on November 4. Keep them in mind when considering crafting new courses.
