Earlier this month, we reported that Marvel, Activision and Beenox, developer of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, would be announcing a new Spider-Man game at this year’s WonderCon, on the event’s second day.
Activision and Marvel have made that announcement a little early. Today, they announced the new game as Spider-Man: Edge of Time, which has you trying to undo a timeline gone wrong as the result of Peter Parker’s early death. For interested comic book fans, the game’ story is penned by Peter David.
Similar to Shattered Dimensions, you’ll get to play as different Spider-Men, but Edge of Time limits this to the regular Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099. Beenox says that Edge of Time has a “cause and effect” feature by which actions in one timeline affect another, although further details on this front haven’t been provided yet.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time is slated for release this fall, and the WonderCon panel on April 2nd will shed more light on the game, as well as Beenox’s learning experience from developing Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
