The Top Gun DLC set adds six new playable aircraft in total. The movie versions of F-14A Tomcat and F/A-18E Super Hornet appear separately from the regular in-universe versions. The aircraft modeled after Su-57 completes the set, although it is simply known as the 5th Gen Fighter.

The armament list for each new aircraft is as follows:

  • F-14A Tomcat – Long-Range Air-to-Air Missile (LAAM), Semi-Active Air-to-Air Missle (SAAM), and Self-Forging Fragments Submunitions (SFFS) for the regular aircraft, High-Power Air-to-Air Missle (HPAA) for the Top Gun version
  • F/A-18E Super Hornet – High-Capacity Air-to-Air Missile (HCAA), 4 Target Air-to-Ground Missile (4AGM), and Long Range Air-to-Ground Missile (LAGM) for the regular aircraft, Hyper-Velocity Air-to-Air Missile (HVAA) and Guided Penetration Bomb (GPB) for the Top Gun version
  • 5th Gen Fighter – 4 Target Air-to-Air Missile (4AAM), High-Capacity Air-to-Air Missile (HCAA), Land Attack Cruise Missile (LACM)
  • DarkStar – Short-Range Aerial Suppression Air-to-Air Missile (SASM), Pulse Laser (PLSL), and Advanced Small Diameter Bomb (XSDB)

The Top Gun: Maverick DLC adds not only new aircraft like the DarkStar into Ace Combat 7, but it also includes new BGMs inspired by the movie series. The Ace Combat series composer Keiki Kobayashi created new remixes of “Danger Zone” and the Top Gun anthem that can play on multiplayer maps.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bandai Namco has released the Top Gun: Maverick Aircraft Set DLC on all platforms mentioned above.
