Visual novels on the iPhone have become something of a trend, with Japanese publishers porting their games to iOS platforms after the initial console sales period, for further exposure and sales. Games like Steins;Gate and 428 that started out on consoles are now available on the iPhone as well, and at more attractive prices.
While most of those games are still in their original Japanese language, Japan-based developer, Child-Dream, have released one of their games in English. A Scar of the Doll, released last month for $0.99, is a suspense story about Asumi, looking for her lost older sister in Tokyo.
Asumi’s sister attends a graduate school in Tokyo, but after losing contact with her, she decides to travel to to the city to track her down, encountering a mystery surrounding her disappearance in the process. The game is about 4-6 hours long, and runs on iOS 4.0 or later.
