Square Enix announced that it is hosting a special event to announce a brand-new Dragon Quest game for smartphones on June 3, and it’ll be a completely new genre we’ve yet to see from the series.
According to the info for the event, the smartphone game will bring a new kind of “Dragon Quest experience” we’ve yet to see, but no further details were shared about the genre or what we can expect to see.
Last Friday the company announced that it will have some surprising news to share in the June 10 issue of Jump, which could be a follow-up to whatever gets announced in the event for smartphones.
The event will be live streamed on June 3 at 12:00pm JST at YouTube and NicoNico Live. Guests include Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii among other famous fans of the series including comedian Kazuhiro Ozawa.
