To celebrate the upcoming new year, the Pokemon Center Online released Pokemon Year of the Dragon merchandise that features Rayquaza, Horsea, and Pikachu. These ceramic Pokemon figures and ornaments are crafted in collaboration with Yakushigama, best known as a ceramic ware brand produced by Chugai Toen.
The Rayquaza and Pikachu ceramic figurine comes with a pedestal and gold folding screen. Rayquaza is shown holding a small Pikachu in their arms while resting atop clouds. The Rayquaza and Pikachu figurine costs ¥2,860 (~$18 USD) and is currently sold out on the Pokemon Center Online website. The website notes that this latest item in their Pokemon merchandise line is not a bell, so it is not recommended to be shaken.
The Pikachu and Horsea ceramic ornament comes with a red string so it can be hung up, either on a tree or some sort of hook. Pikachu is shown hugging a Horsea in his arms. Inside of the ornament is a small bell which can be gently shaken to make a soft sound. The Pikachu and Horsea ornament costs ¥1,540 (~$10 USD) and is also currently sold out on the Pokemon Center Online website.
This Pokemon Year of the Dragon merchandise designed in collaboration with Yakushigama will be available at the Pokemon Center storefronts in Japan starting December 2, 2023. Each store will have a different process for obtaining one of these ceramic Pokemon items.
Recently, Pokemon collaborated with Tiffany and Co. to release a brand new line of luxury Pokemon jewelry which also featured a Poke Ball design for for the jewelry cases. Takara Tomy is producing a giant Clodsire plush. Pokemon fans can also purchase a reclining chair in the shape of Sizzlipede from the official store. The Pokemon Center online website also just revealed the “1, 2, and… Poof!” toy line featuring 10 different Pokemon as they forget a move.
