The title for the movie can loosely translate to “Million-Dollar Guiding Star.” The trailer is half a minute long. It looks like a major event in the movie will focus on Hattori fighting Kaitou Kid, and he expresses surprise when he sees Kid’s face without his monocle. According to Weekly Shonen Sunday, the story will involve Kaitou Kid stealing a “jewel” in Hakodate. There might also be a confession scene between Heiji and Kazuha.

The entire cast from the show will return to reprise their roles. Chika Nagaoka, who worked on the 23rd and 24th movies, will direct the movie. Meanwhile, Takahiro Ookura, who worked on the 21st and 25th movies, will provide the script.

The previous Detective Conan movie, Kurogane no Submarine, made over 13.8 billion JPY (about $94 million) at the domestic office. It came out in April 2023. It is the highest-grossing Detective Conan film in the history of the franchise, beating out The Bride of Halloween, and was the first Detective Conan film to gross over 10 billion JPY.

The 27th Detective Conan movie, Hyaku-man Dollar no Michishirube, will air in Japanese theaters on April 12, 2024.
