Cardcaptor Sakura was originally serialized in Kodansha’s girls’ manga magazine Nakayoshi from 1996 to 2000. It then later returned with the Clear Card arc in 2016 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Cardcaptor Sakura series. The Clear Card arc will end its run after seven years in publication. CLAMP is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary under Kodansha as their publisher, which includes series like xxxHolic, Magic Knight Rayearth, Clover, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, and Chobits.
Clear Card is the sequel to the original series and involves Sakura’s magical cards suddenly turning blank. She has to go and capture new transparent cards—the Clear Cards—with the help of her boyfriend Syaoran and all of her friends before they can cause problems and wreak havoc due to their enhanced power.
The manga is published by Kodansha globally. The anime adaption of Clear Card is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The sequel is currently in development by Madhouse.
