Notable Graduations for Vtubers in 2023

2023 is coming to a close, and unfortunately many beloved Vtubers graduations happened this year. Here’s a compiled list of some of the most notable Vtubers who graduated in 2023 in chronological order.

Amano Pikamee (Voms Project)

Amano Pikamee announced that she would graduate from her Vtuber activities as part of Voms Project this year. This made her one of the first of the notable Vtubers who graduated in 2023. On March 31, 2023, she officially graduated. All of her previous videos were made private, and all social media using her name was shut down. An explicit reason as to why she made this decision was never disclosed.

Enchantasia (Production Kawaii)

Shockingly, all four remaining Vtubers from Production Kawaii’s third generation, called Enchantasia, abruptly graduated on April 7, 2023. Aletta Sky, Peony Aeria, Sava Safari, and Miryu Kotofuji all ceased their VTuber activities on that day due to a “disagreement over the directions of the production,” according to the official announcement. The specific disagreement was never disclosed, and there was never a final stream for the members.

Nina Kosaka (Nijisanji)

July 8, 2023 was the graduation date for Nijisanji Vtuber Nina Kosaka. However, her final stream was held the day before on July 7, 2023. During that last appearance, she said that she would be leaving to work on herself and grow as a performer without having to worry about the pressures of sticking to a strict schedule. 

Mysta Rias (Nijisanji)

On August 27, 2023, Mysta Rias graduated from his activities with Nijisanji. As a final goodbye, he scheduled a full list of special streams and collaborations with various other Nijisanji VTubers daily from August 8, 2023. Up until the very last day, he delivered his plans.

Vesper Noir and Magni Dezmond (Holostars)

After one year with Cover, it was announced that both Vesper Noir and Magni Dezmond would graduate from Holostars Tempus. This was officially announced following a long hiatus. As such, we were never given a reason as to why it was happening happening. Both of these graduations for the Cover Vtubers happened on August 31, 2023.

Mika Melatika, Xia Ekavira, and Riksa Dhirendra (Nijisanji ID)

From November 2023 to January 2024, three Nijisanji VTubers will be graduating from their VTuber activities, one after the other. Xia Ekavira will graduate first on November 27, 2023. Then, Mika Melatika will cease activities on December 8, 2023, followed by Riksa Dhirendra on January 11, 2024. This announcement followed Mika’s hiatus in October to prioritize her health.
