While exploring the Wellness Center in Alan Wake 2, you’ll need to figure out a security password to progress the story. To solve it, you need to uncover some information in the immediate area and then make some logical deductions to turn it into the needed number.
What is the Wellness Center password in Alan Wake 2
In the fifth chapter of Alan Wake 2’s Return section, Saga investigates the Valhalla Nursing Home. During the investigation, you’ll discover that Tor Anderson of the Old Gods of Asgard may be in trouble in the Wellness Center. After tracking him through the building, you’ll eventually see him disappear through a door. It then locks behind him, and you’ll need to detour to the security room to unlock it.
However, the computer in the security office is protected by a password. Fortunately, all the clues you need to solve it are in this room. There are three critical bits of information you need to figure out the password. Check the filing cabinet to find out that security officer Vladimir Blum has been accepted into the Cult of the Tree, along with details of his initiation date. Saga will collect this as a clue.
Your second clue is the calendar on the wall. The phases of the moon have been noted next to their dates. Saga will also note this as a clue, but you must note the dates yourself. The final clue is a diary sitting on the cabinet to the south of the computer. Saga will note this as a clue, but pay attention to what she says when you collect it.
The Wellness Center password in Alan Wake 2 is Vladimir’s initiation date: 150823. Using the information from the filing cabinet letter, we learn this is the day after the new moon. Combined with the information from his diary, this happened in August. Now you can find the date by checking the calendar and finding the day after the new moon in August.
However, there are two extra bits of information you need to complete the password. As noted by Saga, Vladimir is Russian and, therefore, writes his dates in day/month order. This should give you the number 1508. The only problem is the password is six characters long, not four.
Since the password is a date, the logical conclusion is the remaining numbers need to be a year. This should be simple to figure out, as Alan Wake 2 is set in the same year it was released, i.e., 2023. This is confirmed by the murder investigation itself, with each murder victim who went missing in 2010 now turning up dead thirteen years later.
Enter the password 150823 into the security room computer. You can now select the door unlock option and explore the rest of the Wellness Center.
