The Puella Magi Madoka Magica scene0 prequel to the anime series will be available to play within the Japanese version of smartphone game Magia Record from October 3, 2023. A new reveal trailer for the new storyline was also released, and it features Mabayu Aki as the protagonist of the scene0 storyline. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The new storyline was revealed on Magia Day 2023, which celebrated the 6th anniversary of the release of Magia Records. Vio Shimokura from Nitroplus is in charge of writing scene0. Additionally, GLOW performs “Shiyui” as the theme song for the new Puella Magi Madoka Magica scene0 story.
The new story features Mabayu Aki as the protagonist. Aki is a character that should have been part of the original anime series. The new story will explore the character, and why her existence has been erased.

Saori Hayami voices Mabayu Aki in the game. Hayami is well known for voicing Yor Forger in Spy × Family, Yamato in One Piece, and Himawari Uzumaki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
As a reminder, the English version of Magia Record shut down on September 29, 2020. However, fans of the game can still experience the story thanks to the Magia Record anime adaptation. The anime has three seasons, and they are available for streaming on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE.
Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story is available in Japan for Android and iOS devices, and Windows PC. The Puella Magi Madoka Magica scene0 prequel will appear in the game on October 3, 2023.
