Square Enix announced the beginning of the end for Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, with the reveal of the FFXIV Patch 6.5 Part 1 Growing Light release date. Announced during the Letter from the Producer Live at Tokyo Game Show 2023, players won’t have to wait too long to see the first half of the final main scenario patch for the fifth MMO expansion. FFXIV Patch 6.5 Part 1 Growing Light releases on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
This is only the first half of the patch, with the second half set to release sometime in mid-January 2024. Only the first half of the main scenario quests will be available when Part 1 Growing Light drops, but this will include a fair bit of content.
Here’s the newest trailer for the first half of the update.
Players will be able to continue the story, which includes a brief return to the Crystarium in the First from Shadowbringers, as seen in the new trailer. In addition, players will have a new dungeon to complete in The Lunar Subterrane. This culminates in a brand new trial known as The Abyssal Fracture, which comes with an Extreme version as well.
Other content exists out of the main story, including the following:
- Myths of the Realm Part 3 Thaleia: Final Alliance Raid in the Endwalker series.
- Aloalo Island: New variant and criterion dungeons
- The Singularity Reactor (Unreal): New Unreal trial for Thordan
- Duty Support for the final three Stormblood dungeons
- Stormblood joins the free trial version of the game at no additional cost
- Margrat Custom Deliveries
- New Island Sanctuary content
Part 2 in January 2024 will include more MSQ, Tataru’s Grand Endeavor, Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures, and more.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. It will also release for Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The release date for FFXIV Patch 6.5 Part 1 Growing Light is October 3, 2023.
