How to Get and Evolve Dusclops in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet features the return of many fan-favorite Pokemon, including the Dusclops line. If you want to turn this Generation 3 Ghost-type Pokemon into its final form, you’re going to need a specific item. That is, of course, if you have this Pokemon captured in the first place.

Where to Catch Dusclops in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Before you can ever nab yourself a Dusknoir in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC, you’ll need to get its pre-evolution Dusclops. To do this, you have a couple of possible ways, with the first being to transfer this Pokemon from Pokemon Home. If you want to capture it natively in Kitakami, you’ll want to head to the Timeless Woods in the northeastern corner of the map.

I found it is best to head here during nighttime, as this is the time when you can more likely find Dusclops. Unfortunately, if you are a player who hasn’t beaten the game, there is a chance you might only find Duskulls here. If this is you, you’ll need to capture it first and evolve it at level 37 into Dusclops.

How to Evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Once you have a Dusclops in your possession, you’ll need to find an evolutionary item known as the Reaper Cloth to evolve it into Dusknoir. Fortunately, there is a place where you can potentially find the Reaper Cloth within the Timeless Woods in the same location shown in the screenshot above.

You can find it in this area as a red glowing Pokeball item on the ground. I should note item drops seem to be random but they respawn quite quickly after leaving the area and coming back. Once you have the Reaper Cloth, have Dusclops hold it and then trade the Pokemon to someone else you know and trust to evolve it into Dusknoir.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk will release in Winter 2023.
