How to Increase Hunter Rank in Monster Hunter Now

There are several ways to increase your Hunter Rank, all of which are extremely straightforward in how you can obtain HRP. HRP is the experience used to raise your Hunter Rank. These include:

  • Completing Quests
  • Completing Special Quests
  • Hunting Monsters

You will complete Quests as you progress through the Tutorial, which will effectively teach you how to play Monster Hunter Now. This includes how to Hunt monsters, how Paintballs work in the mobile game, and various other mechanics like how to dodge. Most Quests involve harvesting a specific amount of materials, slaying Monsters of specific Grades, or meeting specific requirements.

Special Quests, on the other hand, are not immediately unlocked. Once you reach Hunter Rank 10, these Quests will become available. These Quests can range from gathering items at gathering points, hunting specific monsters, and slaying monsters with specific weapons. Special Quests effectively function as daily tasks you can do to obtain large amounts of HRP.

Hunting Monsters also provides HRP. However, the amount of HRP earned is fairly minimal by comparison to completing Quests and Special Quests. That said, you can level up from just hunting monsters, it may just take a while. Additionally, you only obtain HRP by hunting large monsters like the Great Jagras, Kulu-Yaku, Barroth, and more. This means you will not obtain HRP by hunting monsters like the Raphinos, Mernos, Shamos, and Jagras.

Monster Hunter Now is available for Android and iOS. You can read about how to change your appearance in Monster Hunter Now in our past guide.
