The second part of the conversation between Japanese singer and vocalist Kenshi Yonezu and FFXVI Producer Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida is now available on the artist’s YouTube channel. Kenshi Yonezu is the artist performing the Final Fantasy XVI theme song, titled “Tsuki Wo Miteita – Moongazing.”
The video is approximately 25 minutes long. Both the first and second parts are only available in Japanese, but the second video contains major spoilers about the plot of the game.

During the conversation, Kenshi Yonezu commented on FFXVI‘s story, saying that, after reading the script, he found the ending to be a happy one. However, he still found Clive’s story to be very sad, and wished that Clive’s fate could have been a happier one.
Because of this, Yonezu wanted to write a song that felt “hopeless.” However, as images of the game started to come out, he saw the characters facial expressions and emotions. Because of this and his wish for Clive to have a happy ending, he decided to make a more hopeful song.

The first part of the conversation was released on June 21, 2023, the day before Final Fantasy XVI came out. The second part was scheduled to come out approximately two months after the release of the game, as it contained major spoilers about the events of the game. During the first conversation, Kenshi Yonezu mentioned playing Final Fantasy since he was a child, and said that Final Fantasy XII is his favorite in the series.
In other recent Final Fantasy XVI news, Yoshida recently talked about the inspiration for the Eikons in FFXVI, and how they were inspired by his experience during the 2014 Tokyo Game Show.
Final Fantasy XVI is now available on the PlayStation 5. A six-month exclusivity period is in effect, and a PC port should follow.
