While playing Blasphemous 2, using melee attacks will probably be your preferred method of dealing with enemies. All of this is thanks to the three weapons in your arsenal. However, the Penitent One can deal special damage thanks to the Prayers mechanic. You can both use Quick Verses and Chants to damage the nightmarish enemies you encounter. These are powered by your Fervour, the blue meter below your Health. And just like your Health, you can upgrade your Fervour in Blasphemous 2.
Gain Fervour, Pray More in Blasphemous 2
To gain Fervour in Blasphemous 2, you will have to collect a specific type of item across your adventure. These are Kiss scrolls, which can be located across the world in chests and rewards. While the name of this item may sound a bit creepy or weird, you haven’t even heard half of it. These scrolls do not provide the Fervour upgrades per se, you need to give them to a certain entity in the game.
To find this entity NPC, you will have to travel to the Streets of Wakes. To access this area, you need the Veredicto, which is the ball and chain weapon you can pick at the beginning of your adventure. If you picked another weapon, you can find the Veredicto at the end of the Sacred Entombments area, located northwest of the City of the Blessed Name.
Once you have the weapon, travel to Profundo Lamento, just below the city’s Fast Travel point. From the central area, take the lowest entry to the right. Use the Veredicto to hit the bell that will open up the way to the Streets of Wakes. Once at the main area, visit the room on the left of the first floor. You will see a giant hand with a couple of devotees kissing it. Told you. Gift the Kiss scroll to the hand NPC and your Fervour meter will increase in Blasphemous 2. You will now be able to use more Prayers, both Quick Verses and Chants.
Blasphemous 2 is available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
