“A Watery Wonder” is one of those Fae Farm quests that, when it came up, I wished I hadn’t been so quick to immediately sell everything I’d find or fish up. That’s because in order to progress the story and gain access to new characters, a new black ground-removing Vortex Spell, new recipes, and new areas, I needed to get a bunch of stuff for Neppy. Fortunately, if you keep up with things ahead of time, you can get the items and not need to spend days collecting everything you need for Neppy in Fae Farm.
How to Complete “A Watery Wonder” for Neppy in Fae Farm
First of all, this quest doesn’t even unlock in Fae Farm until you reach floor 25 of the Saltwater Mines dungeon. Neppy lives on the bottom-most level. This creature is also responsible for the whirlpools keeping people out of Azoria. However, they need to charge up energy to fix things. That means you need to find them food first.
Here’s the full list of items you need to get to make Neppy happy in Fae Farm. Fortunately, if you’re already farming, fishing, and foraging, you may have many of the things you need.
- 3 Sardines: These can be found fairly often near Eddy’s house, though you find see them in the ocean around the beach in any season. Sardines always have a sparkling, rainbow hue around them. You can fish them up with the starting fishing pole.
- 5 Steamed Fish: You need to have made the Food Prep Table and Cooking Hearth on your farm. First, take any fish that aren’t the sardines you’re saving for Neppy and turn them into Fish Fillets on the Food Prep Table. You need 5 of them. Then, take some arugula you’ve found when gathering on your farm and use them on the Food Prep table to turn them into 10 Fresh Greens. Combine the Fish Fillets and Fresh Greens to make the Steamed Fish.
- 10 Coral: These are primarily found to the left of Eddy’s shack on the small stretch of rocks to the northwest of his house. You can also find a few to the right of the Saltwater Mines entrance on the beach. These were the hardest part to find in my game.
- 10 Sand Dollars: These are found on every beach and are quite plentiful.
- 20 Diced Roots: Get ready to grow some turnips. One turnip on the Food Prep Table can be turned into two Diced Roots. So you need 10 turnips total.
For added reference, here’s a screenshot showing what a sardine looks like in the water in Fae Farm.
If you haven’t built the Food Prep Table or Cooking Hearth in Fae Farm, here’s what you’ll need. Note that you’ll also need to have build a forge, so you can make bricks and ingots, and a lumber mill, so you can create lumber, to get the materials you need.
- Cooking Hearth: 2 Beech Lumber, 2 Copper Ingots, 3 Clay Bricks, and 3 Stone Bricks.
- Food Prep Table: 1 Beech Lumber, 1 Copper Ingot, 1 Oak Lumber, and 2 Stone Bricks.
Give the items to Neppy either all at once or as you get them via interacting with the fountain on the floor 25 of the Fae Farm mines, and you’ll eventually clear “A Watery Wonder.”
Fae Farm is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
