There isn’t much we know about Ninja Gaiden 3, presently in development at Team Ninja, other than that it’s going to better acquaint you with longtime series protagonist, Ryu Hayabusa.
Speaking with Famitsu, Team Ninja leader, Yosuke Hayashi, let slip a few more vague details about the Ninja Gaiden 3 teaser image that Team Ninja revealed at the Tokyo Game Show.
A prototype for Ninja Gaiden 3 has already been completed at Team Ninja, Hayashi revealed, but said that it would be a while longer before the game can be revealed to the public. In the mean time, he’s curious to see what sort of speculations fans come up with as to the direction of the game, based on the teaser image, which contains several clues.
Questioned as to how the game will compare to Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2, Hayashi’s teases remained vague. He stated that Ninja Gaiden 3 aspires to go back to the basics.
Hayashi emphasizes, however, that this doesn’t mean Team Ninja will allow themselves to be tied to the past. While past games in the series will be taken into consideration, Ninja Gaiden 3 will not be restricted by them.
