A new collaboration between Atlus and Japanese liquor distillery Wakatsuru Saburomaru will result in a new line of whiskey inspired by the Persona series. The first two to appear will be a blended one with motifs from Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal and a single cask Saburomaru inspired by Persona 3 Portable.
The Persona series blended whiskey costs 8,800 JPY (or about $63 USD), while the Persona 3 Portable Saburomaru whiskey costs 21,978 JPY (~$158 USD.) Both bottles will be available to buy on July 13, 2023 in Japan. Additionally, another two single cask Saburomaru ones with motifs from Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are planned to release on August 17, 2023 and September 15, 2023, respectively. More details about these bottles will appear soon.
The Persona 3 Portable bottle is a single malt whiskey that has been aged for three years, to coincide with the number of the entry. The label features the male protagonist of the game and his persona, Orpheus. Meanwhile, the Persona series one features the protagonists of P3P, P4G, and P5R, including the female main character from P3P.
The Wakatsuru Saburomaru x Persona collaboration website also included a fun tidbit about the distillery having its own series of bottles with labels themed after the Major Arcana of the tarot. This ties into the new collaboration, as the tarot appears in the Persona series.
The first two bottles of the Wakatsuru Saburomaru x Persona whiskey will be available for purchase from July 13, 2023 in Japan.
