Sorcerers are powerful magic wielders in Diablo IV and can absolutely devastate enemies with the right set of Skills and Aspects. Here’s what I recommend you put your Skill Points into for your early game Sorcerer build to level 50.
What Sorcerer build should I use in the Diablo 4 early game?
If you’re anything like me, you want to blow everything up with fire in Diablo 4. Unfortunately, as much as it pains me, you should save any fiery Skills until the endgame, where they’ll be much more powerful.
To pull you through to level 50, you’ll want to use electricity and lightning to zap enemies to death. Preferably from afar, since a Sorcerer works at its best when using ranged attacks.
Which Sorcerer Skills should I pick in Diablo IV, then?
I recommend spending your Skill Points on the following Skills:
- Arc Lash
- Chain Lightning
- Lightning Spear
- Teleport
- Ball Lightning
- Coursing Currents
And the following buffs and passives:
- Devastation
- Elemental Dominance
- Glass Cannon

Which Aspects should I use on my lightning Sorcerer build?
Aspects, especially Legendary ones, are essential as they add extra perks to your build. I’d recommend hunting down the following for your Sorcerer build in Diablo 4:
- Recharging Aspect: You gain Mana each time Chain Lightning bounces off of you. Obtained by completing the Zenith dungeon in Fractured Peaks.
- Aspect of the Unbroken Tether: Chain Lightning has a chance of chaining multiple times. Obtained via random drop on a Legendary item.
- Aspect of Efficiency: Using your Basic Skill lessens the cost of your next Core Skill. Obtained by completing the Domhainne Tunnels dungeon in Scosglen.
- Aspect of Splintering Energy: Lightning Spear may spawn another Lightning Spear when cast. Obtained by completing the Crumbling Hekma dungeon in Kehjistan.
Diablo IV is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. If you want to change your game difficulty, here’s how.
