Nintendo revealed some of the Splatoon 3 Splatsville DLC characters, which include new twins Shelly and Donny and returning shopkeeper Annie with Moe. It offered screenshots of all characters in their Inkopolis shops, as well as went over what they’ll offer in their locations.
First, here are Shelly and Donny. They are triops. Like Timmy and Tommy to Nook in Animal Crossing, they work for and are learning from Sheldon. As such, they also run the Splatsville branch of Ammo Knights for him.
SRL HR dept. with an org-chart update. With Sheldon working in Splatsville, his protégés, Shelly and Donny, now run Ammo Knights in Inkopolis! The little cuties really look up to Sheldon, so don't be surprised if they seem familiar. They clearly share Sheldon's love of weapons! pic.twitter.com/hdQP1IbsgA

In Japan, people noticed the similarity between Shelly and Donny in Splatoon 3 and Timmy and Tommy in Animal Crossing. In Japanese, their names are Mamebukichi and Tsbubukichi, and in Japanese Timmy and Tommy are Mamekichi and Tsubukichi. You can see people referencing the twin tanuki in the replies on Twitter.
Next are the Splatoon 3 versions of Annie and Moe. Annie was technically already “around,” as you can buy items from her in the SplatNet app. While she has a different look, she’ll still run the Cooler Heads headgear store.
And here are two familiar faces—Annie and Moe from Cooler Heads, the Inkopolis headgear shop! Annie has leaned into her love of gothic metal and changed her style. She also moonlights as a sysop for SplatNet and adds decals to weapons on the side. As for Moe? Still a clown fish. pic.twitter.com/eGeQNFRFbU
