Luke Tops Unofficial Favorite Tales of Series Character Poll

NetLab posted the results of its Favorite Tales Protagonist character poll onto its website. As a reminder, this is not an official poll from Bandai Namco. Because of this, characters who are in the Hall of Fame (such as Yuri from Vesperia) are eligible votes. Usually, Hall of Fame characters always make it to the Top 10 so fans cannot vote for them in official popularity polls. [Thanks, Abyssal Chronicles!]

In total, 1,793 people voted for their favorite Tales protagonist. This poll includes all characters from the Tales of, including ones from the mobile games and spin-offs. Here are the top ten:

  1. Luke Fon Fabre (Tales of the Abyss) – 425 votes
  2. Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) – 303 votes
  3. Sorey (Tales of Zestiria) – 128 votes
  4. Reid Hershel (Tales of Eternia) – 115 votes
  5. Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia) – 114 votes
  6. Velvet Crowe (Tales of Berseria) – 98 votes
  7. Ludger Will Kresnik (Tales of Xillia 2) – 92 votes
  8. Alphen (Tales of Arise)  – 85 votes
  9. Stahn Aileron (Tales of Destiny) – 75 votes
  10. Asbel Lhant (Tales of Graces) – 67 votes

Cress, who is the very first protagonist for the Tales of series, was in eleventh place. Ickx from Tales of the Rays and Caius from Tales of the Tempest tied in last place with seven votes each. There was also a free answer section. Some people commented that they liked various characters from the defunct Tales of Luminaria, while some others commented characters like Dhaos (who is not a protagonist).

The poll was available from January 21-28, 2023. Because this is a fan poll from NetLab, not all of the Tales fans knew about it. This means that results could be skewed based on NetLab’s usual audience.

The latest entry in the Tales series, Tales of Arise, is readily available for the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
