The revised release date for Limbus Company has been set. Developer Project Moon announced via Tweet that the global release date has been narrowed to February 27, 2023. The game was originally scheduled to hit PC, iOS, and Android devices in December 2022, but the release date slipped into February 2023. According to a statement from Director Kim Jihoon, the delay was related to the team’s efforts to develop a mobile title for the first time and ensure stability for cross-platform support.
Limbus Company is the third game from Project Moon, and is related to its two previous games, Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. All share the common theme of being inspired by horror stories, particularly the ones created through the SCP Foundation collaborative fiction project. In fact, Lobotomy Corporation was a management simulation game patterned closely on the concept, where players managed the titular underground power company to harvest energy from strange, supernatural “Abnormalities.” Library of Ruina was a “Library Battle Simulation,” with mechanics that involved deck-building, cards, and dice.
Limbus Company is more of a dungeon-RPG style game. Check out its first trailer below.
Project Moon also released a new mechanics-focused trailer to accompany the finalized release date. The new trailer shows off the basic combat system. You can view it with English subtitles via the closed captions option below.
The playable “Sinners” of Limbus Company have different attributes and affinities related to damage types, as well as the seven deadly sins. Using them in particular combinations, boosts their “Resonance”, which amplifies their damage and effects. Both allies and enemies have various resistances related to these attack types, so choosing the right attack to suit each enemy is key.
Limbus Company arrives on PC, Android, and iOS on February 27, 2023.
