Sasuke’s adventures as an adult will appear in animated form after all. Naruto: Sasuke’s Story (aka Sasuke Retsuden) will be adapted as part of the ongoing Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime series.
An announcement at Jump Festa 2023 revealed that in January 2023, the Boruto anime series will enter the Sasuke’s Story arc. The story details Sasuke’s adventures as a traveling agent of Konoha Village. Far from the Land of Fire, he infiltrates an observatory. With Sakura’s help, he begins an undercover investigation, hiding his identity as a ninja and uncovering a secret conspiracy that threatens global balance.
The arc first appeared in 2019 in novel form as Naruto: Sasuke’s Story – The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust. It was written by Jun Esaka, and received a manga adaptation from Shingo Kimura.

The Boruto anime arc will also be accompanied by a new opening and ending theme song. Bands Asian Kung-Fu Generation and Humbreaders will perform the opening and ending, respectively. Asian Kung-Fu Generation performed the 2nd opening theme of the Naruto anime, “Haruka Kanata“.
Following that arc, the next arc in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will be the “Code” arc, which is the current arc in the manga. The arc concerns Code, an Inner from Kara. It also involves characters like Ada.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations airs on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. The Sasuke’s Story arc will be adapted in the anime by January 2023, while the manga edition is accessible via Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha’s Manga Plus service.
