HoYoVerse has released some information on Nilou, who will debut as a playable unit in Genshin Impact Version 3.1 Phase II. She will be a 5-star Hydro Sword user, and is a familiar face for those who played the Sumeru Archon Quest. She can work as both a main DPS or a sub DPS, and will benefit the most from having a Dendro character in your party. This is because her Golden Chalice’s Bounty Talent is essentially a buff for the Bloom reaction.
Nilou will only have three Normal Attacks in her combo chain. Her Elemental Skill is Dance of Haftkarsvar, which is a stance system similar to Tartaglia’s. Nilou will enter the Pirouette state, and all of her attacks will convert to Hydro DMG (scales with HP). If you use her Normal Attack in this state, she enters the Sword Dance stance; if you use her Elemental Skill, she enters the Whirling Steps stance. Completing the third step will end her Pirouette state and deal an effect depending on what stance she is in.

When Nilou completes her third dance step in Sword Dance mode, she will cause Hydro DMG (Luminous Illusion) and gain the Lunar Prayer effect. Under Lunar Prayer, Nilou’s Normal Attacks will become Sword Dance techniques and she will cause a Luminous Illusion with the final hit. When she ends Pirouette state in the Whirling Steps stance, she will deal AoE Hydro DMG with Whirling Water Wheel. It will also create a Tranquility Aura that will apply Wet to enemies within the AoE. It will remain on the field even if you swap out Nilou, and it will follow you around.

Finally, Nilou’s Elemental Burst is Dance of Abzendegi: Distant Dreams, Listening Spring. Unlike her Skill, it is very easy to understand. It simply causes AoE Hydro DMG and apply the Lingering Aeon effect onto enemies. After some time, opponents with Lingering Aeon will take Hydro DMG.
Hisako Kanemoto provides the Japanese voice for Nilou. Kanemoto has previously voiced Helena Blavatsky and Tomoe Gozen in Fate/Grand Order, as well as Sailor Mercury in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal. In English, Dani Chambers voices Nilou. Chambers’ other roles include Becky from Spy x Family and Aharen from Aharen-san wa Hakarenai.
Nilou will appear in Genshin Impact from October 14, 2022 alongside Albedo. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
