After the short teaser that aired during the Nintendo Direct livestream, Nintendo uploaded a much longer trailer for Bayonetta 3. At almost eight minutes long, the video focuses on all of the stylish and over-the-top moves you can pull off in the latest entry in the franchise. It also shows how you can control other characters and demons throughout the story.
You can view the Bayonetta 3 Ways of the Witch trailer at this link. Embedded below is the trailer from the Nintendo Direct itself.
As seen in the Bayonetta 3 trailer, Bayonetta can use her Madama Butterfly wings to glide around. There does not seem to be a limit on how long she can do that for. Recurring elements include Witch Time and Infernal Demons. When you summon them, Bayonetta is helpless. But you can switch control between the two of them to string together combos depending on the situation. She can also fuse with them with Demon Masquerade.
You will also be able to play as Viola, a new character. She uses a sword and darts, and instead of activating Witch Time with a dodge, she uses it after a block. Her pact demon is Cheshire, and while Cheshire is on the field, Viola cannot block or use her sword.
Bayonetta 3 will come out on the Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2022.
