Shulk’s amiibo Lets Someone Use the Monado in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

At the very end of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct, Nintendo went over amiibo compatibility. While it will work with all amiibo, one will involve a special feature. If someone owns a Shulk amiibo and scans it into the game, it will cause a cosmetic change that makes Xenoblade Chronicles 3 characters’ swords look like the Monado.

Here’s the teaser showing how the Monado will look like when Noah is using it in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. While it does specifically show Noah in the video, all information does clarify that any “Swordfighter” character would be able to change the way their sword looks.

The video also mentioned other amiibo will provide unspecified “helpful items” when scanned.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will come to the Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022. The special edition includes an art book and SteelBook case. There will also be a $29.99 Expansion Pass. That will add DLC like additional hero characters, outfit customization options, and a new story scenario. The story scenario won’t appear until sometime before the end of December 2023.
