The hack-and-slash action title Lollipop Chainsaw may be getting a revival soon. Yoshimi Yasuda, the former CEO of Kadokawa Games, announced via Twitter that his new company was planning on revitalizing the game. While details are still scarce, Yasuda urged fans to wait and look forward to the game’s release.
Dragami Games is a video game publishing company founded on May 13, 2022. It was formed after Yasuda and fellow Kadokawa Games company director Satoshi Fuyuno split from the company. Though relatively new, Dragami Games employs around 20 former Kadokawa Games employees. More importantly, the company also holds the IPs of games such as Lollipop Chainsaw, the Demon Gaze series, Relayer, and √Letter, among others.

Interestingly, Lollipop Chainsaw celebrated its tenth anniversary just one day after Yasuda’s announcement.

Lollipop Chainsaw, originally released in 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture under Goichi Suda aka Suda51. Yasuda served as the game’s publisher at Kadokawa Games. American screenwriter and director James Gunn also helped write Lollipop Chainsaw, and recently appeared at the game’s tenth-anniversary celebration along with Suda. It’s still unclear whether Grasshopper Manufacture will develop the game’s revival project.
Lollipop Chainsaw is available to play on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The unannounced Lollipop Chainsaw revival project is currently in the works.
